Cancer screening information for people with cerebral palsy. What do I need to know?

By November 3, 2025News

Regular cancer screening is an important part of staying healthy, but for many people with cerebral palsy, knowing where to start or how to access screening can be confusing.

In this session, presenters will talk through Australia’s four free national cancer screening programs: bowel, breast, cervical, and lung. You’ll learn who is eligible for each program, how to take part, what the tests involve, and what support is available if you need adjustments or assistance.

The session will also cover:
•  How to book a screening appointment
•  What to expect before, during, and after your test
•  Common barriers people with disability face and how to overcome them
•  Where to go for more information or help

Please note: information about the BreastScreen program will focus on BreastScreen Victoria, as each state operates its program differently. Cervical, bowel, and lung cancer screening information applies nationally.

There will be time for questions, so come along to learn more and get answers from experts in cancer prevention and accessibility.
